Terms of Service

1. About the service

Pickleball BLR ("we", "us") is a Bengaluru-based platform that organises and operates pickleball tournaments. Through the site you can discover events, register, pay an entry fee, follow live scores, and view results.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 18 to create an account, or have a parent or legal guardian register on your behalf.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your password and any MFA recovery codes secure. Share them with no one. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to bypass capacity, refund policy, or behaviour rules is not allowed.

3. Tournament registration

• Registration is open from the publish date of a tournament until the registration deadline shown on the tournament page, or until capacity is reached, whichever is earlier.
• Each registration is for a specific tournament + category. You may not register more than once for the same category.
• By registering you confirm you meet the skill, gender, or age criteria of the category. We may move or remove registrations that don't fit a category.
• You must accept the player waiver and these terms at registration. Without both, your registration cannot be confirmed.

4. Fees & payment

• The entry fee for each category is shown on the tournament page in INR. Applicable taxes (e.g. GST) are included unless stated otherwise.
• Entry fees are paid offline — typically by UPI transfer or bank deposit to a Pickleball BLR account communicated at registration. We do not collect card or UPI details on this site.
• When you submit a registration, your seat is held in Pending payment. An organiser confirms your seat once the offline transfer is verified, usually within a few hours. Seats that remain unpaid past a tournament's deadline may be released back to capacity.

5. Cancellations & refunds

You may cancel a confirmed registration before the tournament starts, subject to our refund policy at /refunds. Because entry fees are collected offline, refunds are also issued offline — an organiser will reach out to coordinate the transfer back to you within 2 business days of your cancellation.

6. Conduct on event day

• Arrive checked-in and ready by the time published for your match.
• Follow USAPA rules unless the tournament page specifies otherwise.
• Treat opponents, partners, scorers, and venue staff with respect. We may disqualify you for unsporting conduct, abuse, harassment, or violation of venue rules — without refund.
• If you do not show up to a scheduled match, you may be marked No-show and forfeit the match without refund.

7. Cancellation by us

We may cancel, postpone, or modify a tournament for reasons including weather, venue unavailability, low signups, or force majeure. If we cancel a tournament, registered players receive a full refund of their entry fee. We are not responsible for any other costs you may have incurred (travel, accommodation, equipment).

8. Prizes

• Prize amounts are advertised on the tournament page. Winners are determined by the live bracket and verified by an admin.
• Prize money is disbursed within a reasonable time after the tournament, subject to KYC verification of the winner if required by law.
• Tax deducted at source (TDS) may apply on prize money under Indian tax law. We will deduct and deposit it as required and provide a Form 16A.

9. Live scoring & results

Scores entered by admins or scorers on event day are the official record. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but reserve the right to correct obvious errors. Disputes raised at the venue, before the next round begins, will be considered. Disputes raised after a tournament is marked complete will not change published results.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the site to commit fraud, including chargeback abuse.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise interfere with normal operation.
• Submit false information or impersonate another person.
• Use the site to harass, threaten, or defame any other user or staff member.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

11. Content rights

The site, software, designs, marks, and editorial content are owned by Pickleball BLR. You may use the site for its intended personal purpose only. By submitting content (e.g. a profile photo), you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display it as part of the service.

12. Disclaimers & liability

Sport involves risk of injury. By participating, you acknowledge and accept that risk — see the player waiver at /waiver. The platform is provided as is; we make no warranties of fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to a tournament will not exceed the entry fee you paid for that tournament. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, death, or personal injury caused by us, where such limitation is not permitted by Indian law.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date at the top and notify you of material changes by email or in-app before they take effect.
